So you may think this is a very unique video to have shared on a physical education webpage! As a parent I know how difficult it can be for young children to tie their shoes. Tying shoes is a fine motor skill that can be frustrating for children to learn and I wanted to share a video that may make it a little easier for your little one at home. I personally used it with my own five year old and he was pleased to have success on the different method and thought it would be good to share the idea with other parents! Developmentally kindergartners are ready to tie their own shoes but it is not mastered quickly, so please be patient. My son's kindergarten teacher gave some good advice, "Practice can be done anywhere. The car, on the bus, waiting in line, and right before bed to name a few. It is similar to reading. One day it will just click or the "light bulb goes on" and before you know it, they are tying their shoes-Another kindergarten milestone! :)".
